ABU DHABI AIRPORTS SIGNS NEW TECH SECURITY CONTRACT

Abu Dhabi International Airport operator Abu Dhabi Airports has signed a United Arab Emirate Dirham AED458 million (USD124.6 million) contract with US-based Smiths Detection to upgrade detection and baggage screening systems at the airport’s upcoming Midfield Terminal.The enhanced hold baggage system will include a high-speed explosives detection system, combining X-ray technologies to produce high-resolution images of baggage contents.
