EU MINISTERS ASKED TO APPROVED REFORMS TO EU-USA OPEN SKIES DEAL

DETAILS of the agreement struck in March to upgrade the European Union (EU)-United States open skies agreement have been presented to the EU Council of Ministers for approval. They include allowing more EU airlines to serve third country airports after landing first in the USA. In return, the European Commission will gain greater powers to monitor noise restrictions at EU airports with more than 50,000 annual movements and pass this informnation to American regulators.
