EU RESEARCH PROJECT DEVELOPS BUG-KILLING MICROFIBRE

BY KEITH NUTHALL SCIENTISTS involved in a European Union (EU)-funded Euro EUR1.1 million research project are developing a micro-fibre based cloth with integrated biocides able to destroy all bacteria that it touches. The CLEANCLOTH project is slated for completion by November and participants have shortlisted biocides for testing on a textile made from a special compound. The project is being coordinated by Norway's Norwex Holding, and other commercial partners include Nilfisk-Advance, of Denmark, Sweden's PP-Polymer, and Spain's Polisilk. ...
