JINDAL ALUMINIUM INVESTS IN KARNATAKA PLANTS

INDIAN manufacturing giant Jindal Aluminium is investing USD160 million to set up two new plants near the southern city of Bangalore, in Karnataka.
The first unit, costing USD100 million, will have an annual production capacity of 50,000 tonnes of aluminium sheets and foils, and is expected to begin operations by April 2012. The finished products will be used in packaging applications such as food and beverage containers, which have significant export potential, according to company vice-president Rajesh Bansal.
