EU DEBATES SIGNIFICANT EXPANSION OF DRINKING WATER CONTROLS TO TEXTILE SECTOR CHEMICALS

Textile finishing companies and departments will need to review the extent their chemicals pollute surface and ground waters in the European Union (EU) in coming years, as the EU moves forward with a comprehensive reform of its water pollution legislation.
The European Parliament is waiting for the EU Council of Ministers to take a formal position on a proposed legislation package that would update the EU Water Framework Directive, the Groundwater Directive and the Environmental Quality Standards Directive (also known as the surface water directive).
