ONLY 25% OF EU FUNDING FRAUD RECOVERED IN 2022

Only 25% of European Union (EU) funds lost to fraud in 2022 were recovered from EU member states, less than the 34% five-year annual average, according to a January 18 resolution (1) from the European Parliament. MEPs want the European Commission to boost efforts to recover the EUR1.77 billion (USD1.93 billion) lost both to fraud and non-fraudulent irregularities in 2022.
