THE US-China trade dispute could offer an incentive for Chinese companies to dump textile products into Indonesia, according to a report by Moody’s Investors Service.
But Indonesian textile representatives told WTiN they are confident safeguards are in place to minimise the risk of such dumping. They also hope to capitalise on the trade war to boost Indonesian textile exports to the US and attract Chinese investment to support domestic production and curb reliance on imports.
