ECHA APPROVES NEW BIOCIDES USED IN TEXTILES

THE EUROPEAN Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has approved biocidal textile finishing chemicals - notably silver-based chemicals - for use across the European Union (EU). Acting under its regulatory powers authorised by the EU biocidal products regulation, ECHA’s biocidal products committee (BPC) has recommended the EU-wide authorisation of silver zinc zeolite for use in disinfectants and preservatives in textiles, tissues and masks.
