RECORD 252 FRAUD CASES HITS UK COURTS IN SIX MONTHS

UK courts handled record volumes of fraud in the first six months of this year (2018), with some 252 cases involving an alleged GBP895 million (USD1.15 billion) in losses, according to the latest research by KPMG Forensic. The figures follow 2017’s record-breaking value of fraud hauls – which KPMG is now confirming was GBP3.6 billion (USD4.6 billion), the largest value in the 31-year history of KPMG’s UK Fraud Barometer, that measures cases involving at least GBP100,000 (USD129,000) in losses.
