EU MAINTAINS MOVE TO IMPOSE RETALIATORY DUTIES OVER TRUMP METAL TARIFFS, DESPITE SUSPENSION

  THE EUROPEAN Commission has said that it will continue preparations to impose safeguard duties on imports into the European Union (EU) of USA-made textiles and textile products, despite the USA exempting the EU from the American import duties on aluminium and steel that sparked the trade row. The White House has only suspended the EU from the duties until May 1, pending talks on dealing with the global over supply of metal.
