INDIAN GOVERNMENT DESIGNATES ANDHRA PRADESH AIRPORT AS INTERNATIONAL OPERATION

THE INDIAN government has designated Vijayawada Airport, which serves the Andhra Pradesh state capital region near Amaravati, as an international airport. A new terminal was opened at the airport in January (2017). A note from the government stressed that fully operational customs, immigration, plus human health, animal and plant quarantine services were required for the launch of international operations.
