ESA AND DANISH TECH COMPANY RELEASE NEW AIRPORT OBSTACLE WARNING SYSTEM

THE EUROPEAN Space Agency (ESA) and Danish technology company Ascend XYD have joined forces to develop new satellite-based technology enabling airports to record potential nearby land-based obstacles. The Ascend Obstacle Management Solution, said an ESA note, combines land observation data from the Copernicus Sentinel satellites with smart web-based software on aircraft and ground-generated data to calculate restricted aerial zones around an airport.
