NORTH-EAST CHINA FACES GOVERNMENT ACTION SMOG AS POLLUTION DISRUPTS AIRPORTS

THE CHINESE government has announced it will prove 20 cities' emergency plans for dealing with smog after heavy air pollution caused hundreds of flight delays in the northeast of the country over the Christmas and New Year period. On December 20 alone, Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) reported that it cancelled 351 departures because of smog-related visibility problems.
