Law enforcement agencies worldwide took a major step towards preventing the estimated USD1 billion that the global airline industry loses every year from fraudulent online purchases of flight tickets this month, with a crackdown that led to 193 arrests. Running between October 10 and 15, Global Airport Action Day involved 189 airports in 43 countries, 75 airlines and eight online travel agencies.
