The average British investment fraud victim is a 65-year-old man in a metropolitan area, according to Action Fraud, the UK’s nationwide anti-fraud agency, run by the City of London Police. Reporting results from Operation Broadway, launched in 2014 to track down boiler room fraudsters in London, Action Fraud said that 77% of people falling victim to such dishonest high-pressure sales of dubious investment products are men in their 60s living in cities with more than GBP30,000 in savings.
