EU RESEARCH PROJECT PUSHES PROGRESS IN FLOW MANUFACTURING

THE PROJECT coordinator of a European Union (EU) funded EUR15.9 million research project has explained how it has improved pharma sector flow manufacturing. Prof Walter Leitner, of RWTH Aachen University, Germany, was speaking about the now completed Synflow project. Speaking in a European Commission briefing note, Leitner said Synflow scientists developed generic methods to apply to a “broad” number of flow manufacturing processes, rather than custom-designing systems for particular medicines, as often happens.
