PLASTICS SECTOR WELCOMES IMPENDING EUROPEAN COMMISSION GUIDANCE ON ENDOCRINE DISRUPTORS

News that the European Commission is at last ready to present scientific criteria to identify hormone disrupting chemicals subject to special controls has been welcomed by the plastics industry. The move follows a decision by the European Court of Justice (ECJ) in December in a case brought by Sweden complaining about years of delay in adopting criteria for the carcinogenic disruptors found in rubber boots, shower curtains and food containers.
