THE EUROPEAN Medicines Evaluation Agency (EMEA) has launched an action plan to improve its operational efficiency regarding human medicine controls. Part of an ongoing quality management initiative and a response to a 2003 audit, the 18 month plan aims at reinforcing EMEA's scientific evaluation, the transparency of its procedures and the scientific capacity of its staff, plus making its CPMP scientific committee more efficient.
