BY KEITH NUTHALLTHE EUROPEAN Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is lending Euro 60 million to Serbia's state-owned power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) to help rehabilitate the country's coal mining sector. The 15-year loan is aimed at enabling the company to modernise its coal production and doubling to 12 million tonnes the amount of lignite extracted annually from the Tamnava West mine. Euro 47 million has been earmarked for technical improvements, including a new bucket wheel excavator, a belt conveyor system and a mine power supply system. ...
