SUGAR TALKS

THE EUROPEAN Union Council of Ministers has authorised the European Commission to negotiate guaranteed prices for sugar suppliers from India and the so called ACP (African Caribbean Pacific) group of countries, which has special trade relations with the EU. The aim is to guarantee until 2006 that their importers command prices comparable those paid to EU producers.
