COURT OF AUDITORS SACKING

BY KEITH NUTHALLAN ACCOUNTANT sacked from his job at the European Union's financial watchdog - Court of Auditors - has claimed that his dismissal was a warning from its managers that whistle-blowing about corruption in the institution would not be tolerated. In a letter to MEP's, Dougal Watt, said the decision by court Secretary General Michel Herve to dismiss him conflicted with the opinion of an official disciplinary board which had concluded his punishment "should not be more severe than downgrading".In his letter, Mr Watt said: "Mr Herve simply asserts - ...
