ITALY COMPENSATION FUND

EUROPEAN Union ministers have been asked by the European Commission to pay Italy Euro 47.6 million emergency aid from the European Union Solidarity Fund (for large disasters). Euro 30.8 million would finance urgent measures such as temporary accommodation following earthquakes in Molise and Apulia. Euro 16.8 million would help Italy deal with the eruption of Mount Etna and subsequent tremors.
