GEOFFREY Podger, the European Food Safety Authority's first executive director, will quit his post for a new job as chief executive of Britain's Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in November. High-flier Podger had moved to EFSA as its founding senior executive from Britain's Food Standards Agency (FSA). Announcing his latest departure, he said of EFSA: "We have been able to create a body of real value in food safety to the European Union".
