THE EUROPEAN Commission has created a new Scientific Committee on Consumer Products (SCCP), which will advise it on the safety of non-food goods. Its 19 members will especially be tasked with examining the allergenic properties of cosmetics. The committee replaces Brussels' old Scientific Committee on Cosmetic Products and Non-food Products Intended for Consumers.
