MORE than 300 sheep have died after being exposed to a mine toxin in a deadly experiment conducted by the University of Idaho, USA. Researchers grazed the 1,400 sheep on grass above the state's closed Conda phosphate mine, Soda Springs, late last month and one week later, many began to die. The idea was to see how sheep react to selenium, a pollutant produced from phosphate mines.
