BENZENE CONTAMINATION – SOFT DRINKS – EUROPEAN COMMISSION PROBE

THE EUROPEAN Commission has demanded reports from the 25 European Union (EU) member states on risks posed to consumers from benzene contamination of soft drinks, before deciding whether EU legislation may be required. Philip Tod, (CORRECT SPELLING) Commission spokesman for health and consumer protection told just-drinks.com today (Wednesday) that Brussels wanted to know the extent of problems, and how national regulators are monitoring and dealing with them.
