THE EUROPEAN Commission is pressing for the continuation of existing international noise regulations for new car models, while data is amassed on a proposed replacement rule. The Commission has - unusually - publicly criticised the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe's (UNECE) section on worldwide vehicle standards.
