EP CALLS FOR URBAN SUSTAINABILITY PLANS

THE EUROPEAN Parliament has called for all European Union (EU) cities of more than 100,000 people to pass and implement local 'sustainable urban management plans' that raise environmental health standards. MEPs were commenting on a European Commission 'thematic strategy for the urban environment', and criticising it for not containing enough practical measures.
