INDIAN PET PRODUCERS TO FACE REIMPOSITION OF EU ANTI-DUMPING DUTIES

BY KEITH NUTHALL THE EUROPEAN Commission has requested the reimposition of anti-dumping duties on exports into the European Union (EU) of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film manufactured within India. EU ministers are expected to formally approve the plan, which would see duties imposed in 2001, being renewed at the same levels - without such authorisation they would lapse. The decision will mean that 17.3% duties are reimposed on Indian PET film, with certain named companies being charged variable rates (up to 18%) or being exempted altogether. Those paying ...
