EU COMPUTER RESERVATION CODE MAY PROMOTE INTERMODALITY

A PROPOSED European Union (EU) code of conduct for computerised air travel reservation systems has been amended by the European Parliament to ensure they promote combined transport services involving rail. Amendments passed by MEPs, if approved by EU ministers, would insist where there are alternative train services for a departure and destination city, "at least the best ranked train service or air-rail service must feature on the first screen of the principle display".
