BY MONICA DOBIE DOG lovers across the European Union (EU) - including Britain - can rest easier thanks to a new EU ban on the import and export of dog fur and products containing dog fur as of January 1, 2009. The European Commission proposed the ban in November 2006, because of increasing incidents of dog fur being placed on the European market either undeclared or disguised as synthetic or other types of fur.
