GROWTH IN ALTERNATIVE FUEL VEHICLES USE CUTS EU CO2 CAR EMISSIONS

BY KEITH NUTHALL THE CO2 emitted by European Union (EU) cars is falling fast, according to the latest data from the European Commission. Looking at 2008, a report out this week said that the average specific CO2 emissions from passenger cars were 153.5g CO2/km. This is a decrease by 3.3% or 5.2 grams per kilometre from the previous year (158.7g CO2/km in 2007).
