REACH DEADLINE LOOMS FOR MONOMER MAKERS

THE FIRST deadline to register chemicals under the European Union's (EU) REACH chemical control system arrives on November 30. Both plastics manufacturers and their customers are waiting to see whether their ingredient suppliers will log the paperwork on time. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), which is responsible for administering REACH, said it expects between 4,500 and 5,000 substances to be registered in total by the upcoming Nov 30 deadline, which amounts to about 38,000 registrations due to the fact that more than one company ...
