CHINESE CORN STARCH DUTY APPROVED BY EU MINISTERS

THE PRICE of Chinese-made dry sodium gluconate in the European Union (EU) is set to rise, after the EU Council of Ministers yesterday (Monday 25 Oct) imposed stiff definitive anti-dumping duties on this widely-used food additive. Tariffs will be set at 53.2% - except for two producers cooperating with European Commission inquiries into the problem: Shandong Kaison Biochemical Co., Ltd, of Rizhao City (5.6%); and Qingdao Kehai Biochemistry Co.
