EU LAUNCHES NANO-SILVER PROBE

BY KEITH NUTHALL THE EUROPEAN Union's Scientific Committee on Emerging and newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) has launched a probe into the environmental and health safety of nano-silver. The committee wants comments from interested parties and will accept them until June 4. Its note said: "Recent review papers suggest that nanosilver may not be hazardous to humans and may result in low internal exposure.
