KEITH NUTHALLTHE EUROPEAN Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has concluded that the salmon feed supplement L-Histidine monohydrochloride monohydrate is safe. It contains 74% of the essential amino acid L-Histidine, shown to prevent cataracts in fish under practical farming conditions, said EFSA, which is recommending the product receive the European Union (EU) market authorisation sought by producer Kyowa Kyogo Ltd.
