BY KEITH NUTHALLAN OPTIMISTIC picture has been painted about future European Union (EU) air pollution by the European Environment Agency (EEA), which is predicting all emissions of land-based pollutants (except ammonia) will decline by more than 35% by 2030. In its 'state of the environment and outlook' report for 2005, the EEA adds that the use of all feasible technical measures would actually offer "a considerable potential for further reductions in air emissions".
