OMBUDSMAN VERDICT

BY KEITH NUTHALLTHE EUROPEAN Commission has been condemned by the European Ombudsman for conducting "maladministration" by being too slow to deal with safety complaints about the European Union's (EU) Institute for Transuranium Elements, Karlsruhe, Germany. An official claimed in writing of alleged infringements of EU laws on the protection against radiation and on dangerous goods at the institute.
