THE INDIAN state government of Andhra Pradesh has been pressing the country's industrial giants Tata and M.L.Dalmiya & Co to invest in the local leather industry, notably developing a Leather Export Park to mirror the success of the 1,000 acre Calcutta Leather Complex. The Leather Industries Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd said it was especially hopeful of signing a deal with Tata.
