SHANGHAI BUREAU LAUNCHES INVESTIGATION IN SCHOOL UNIFORM DYES
March 1st, 2013PUPILS at 21 Shanghai primary and middle schools were told to stop wearing uniforms after the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision found eight batches of uniforms produced by the Shanghai Ouxia garment company contained banned potentially carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes. The company had its production halted while its stock was sealed for further inspection. Schools were told to send their students’ uniforms to the bureau for more testing.
