Advance fee fraud abounds and creeps up in different guises. The special security and reconstruction issues in Iraq and Afghanistan offer pretty good cover for fraudsters in the carrot-dangling stages - even suppliers that consider themselves careful can find they've been led up a blind alley, or worse.
