SEC SUSTAINABILTY REPORTING RULE SPARKS STATESIDE LEGAL BATTLE

American accounting majors have urged their USA clients to continue comprehensive assessments of the impact of climate change on their businesses, and collect data their own greenhouse emissions, despite a new USA Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) climate-related disclosures rule (1) being stayed. The SEC said on April 4 it would halt application of the rule, only released on March 6, while courts debate whether it is legal (2).
