The victory of pro-European Moldovan leader President Maia Sandu in the November 3 national election presents significant potential for the country’s clothing and textile industry. Positioned between Romania and Ukraine, Moldova has long been influenced by Russia but has applied to join the European Union (EU). Its proximity to European markets, experience in the textile sector, and competitive labour costs could position Moldova as an emerging manufacturing hub within European supply chains.
