EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT COMMITTEE WANTS CALORIE LABELLING FOR ALL ALCOHOL PRODUCTS

The European Parliament's environment, public health and food safety committee has called on the European Commission to propose legislation, insisting that EU-sold retailed alcoholic product containers are printed or labelled with calorie information. The committee has called for a new EU alcohol strategy to be devised for 2016-22, “to assist national governments in dealing with alcohol related harm,” said a committee motion, approved Tuesday (March 31).
