ECHA RECOMMENDS TEXTILE FINISHING CHEMICAL FOR EU AUTHORISATION LIST
March 15th, 2014THE EUROPEAN Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has recommended textile chemical finishing solvent N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) be placed on the REACH authorisation list, so special permission is needed for its EU use. It helps synthesise and produce coated textiles and synthetic fibres. ECHA fears it might harm human fertility and reproduction.
The European Commission will make the final decision on the listing.
