BRUSSELS ASSESSES INNOVATIVE RECEIPT LOTTERY SYSTEMS

INNOVATIVE anti-tax evasion lotteries where consumers are asked to post their retail receipts to the government, with their names and addresses on the back, have been explored by a European Commission report. Their aim is to give tax authorities receipt-based data to check VAT evasion by retailers.
