THE EUROPEAN Commission has declared legal under European Union (EU) state aid rules airline access agreements and profit sharing deals between Berlin airports while the publicly-owned Berlin Schönefeld Airport is redeveloped. Airport manager Flughafen Berlin Schönefeld GmbH (FBS) arranged that profits from Tempelhof (closed in 2008) and Tegel airports be funnelled into Schönefeld’s account.
