THE GOVERNMENTS and international institutions of the European Union (EU) need to better prepare for cooperative responses to large-scale man-made disasters that inevitably cause damage on a cross-border scale, the European Environment Agency (EEA) has claimed. THE WORLD’S premier anti-money laundering operation has released a detailed report detailing how corrupt accountants are increasingly using their expertise to help criminals clean dirty money. The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) says that accountants are not only advising criminals on money laundering, but arranging paperwork and even conducting illicit transactions themselves.…

A REPORT from European Union (EU) power federation Eurelectric has said that when regulators or governments impose public service obligations under the 2003 electricity directive, utilities “should be granted fair compensation.”
