DUBAI SHOW SEES LAUNCH OF SMART SOFTWARE PLATFORMS TO BOOST AIRPORT SECURITY

BY HEBA HASHEM, in Dubai Honeywell has introduced new smart solutions during the Dubai Airport Show that are designed to make life easier for every day airport operation.  US-based Honeywell launched a smart software suite, NAVITAS, designed to help improve the safety and efficiency of airside operations by increasing connectivity through Internet of Things technology.

The software’s components are designed to assist personnel in visualising and routing aircraft movements – enhancing situational awareness about traffic conditions, expediting aircraft turnaround times, and automating fault diagnostics for airside equipment, according to Honeywell.

“Airports around the globe are seeing dramatic increases in traffic, and while that makes the world more connected, it increases complexity to ensure safe and reliable operations,” said Sonja Strand, vice president and general manager for Honeywell’s global airports business. “NAVITAS helps orchestrate these complex environments…through mobile applications, dashboards and heads-up displays that are intuitive,” she said.
